At e-BAS Accounts, we support and use the following software:

Saasu is an online accounting platform available via SAAS (software as a service) i.e. it is web-based. e-BAS Accounts is a Gold Certified Saasu Advisor and as such, we can assist you with your requirements for Saasu bookkeeping. We love Saasu here at e-BAS Accounts because it enables us to collaborate with clients and accountants about client data in real time.

Users can access the data all at the same time eliminating the need to send data files from one user to another for review. Clients no longer have to wait until their bookkeeper or accountant completes work to their files – they can continue to use the file while other users attend to their required file tasks. This saves so much time for all users concerned and completely removes the risk of file corruption and/or loss. Because Saasu is web/cloud-based, the data is available anywhere and anytime – access your data from any computer with an internet connection.

Lastly, all backups and upgrades are done in the background for you – you’ll never have to do these tasks again! Saasu is Australian-owned and offers very reasonable pricing plans. We highly recommend Saasu here at e-BAS Accounts, in fact we use it for our own accounting! Saasu includes the following features:

e-BAS Accounts is a Xero Certified Advisor so we can easily assist you with your Xero bookkeeping needs. Xero is also web-based software. It was founded by Rod Drury and Hamish Edwards in 2006. Xero has teams in Wellington, Auckland, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and the UK.

We like Xero for the same reasons that we like Saasu – it promotes easy collaboration between users; it’s web-based so no more data file backups and transfer between users; data is current and always available in real-time; user’s data is available anywhere, anytime where an internet connections exists; no longer do you need to worry about backups or upgrades – this is all done for you! We love Xero here at e-BAS Accounts and we think you will too! Like Saasu, Xero is a subscription service with several monthly plans available from which to choose. Xero has many wonderful features some of which are listed below:

e-BAS Accounts is a MYOB Partner. This means we are experienced in using MYOB and can advise and assist you and your business no matter what version of MYOB you are currently using. MYOB began over 20 years ago and currently supports over 1 million Aussie and Kiwi businesses and over 10,000 accountant practices. MYOB began with only one product but now boasts over 100 different products and services. While most of these products are desktop-based, MYOB will soon venture into the cloud with new and exciting web-based products – we are especially excited about this news at e-BAS Accounts! Watch this space for more information about MYOB’s online products as it comes to hand. Some of the products MYOB currently offers are:

Note, that as an ambassador of online products, e-BAS Accounts quite likes “Live Accounts” but be aware that this software is for small businesses and start-ups only. It is a basic product and does not support payroll. However, MYOB has been working on this aspect and plans to release a payroll solution for Live Accounts in July 2011. Watch this space for further information and updates on the payroll function for Live Accounts!

MYOB is an age-old favourite and is a robust fully-functional accounting software which is favoured by many accountants. Here at e-BAS Accounts, while we prefer cloud-based software, we are aware that many users prefer desktop products like MYOB and as such, we do support and promote MYOB as a fantastic accounting product for your business. Having said that, we look forward to embracing MYOB’s new web-based products which will be more inline with our current bookkeeping mission.

Reckon is the company responsible for creating such products as QuickBooks (now known as Accounts) and many others (see below). Reckon provides its services and products to Australia, New Zealand, the UK, the USA and Asia. Like MYOB, QuickBooks (Accounts) is mainly a desktop product although users can now access their online product, QuickBooks Online. Their online product is fully functional and robust and includes these features:

  • Multi-site and multi-company reporting
  • Operates with multiple simultaneous users
  • Comprehensive payroll management
  • Over 100 reports and graphs
  • Receive product updates, upgrades and unlimited weekday technical support
  • Integrates with  Reckon GovConnect BAS Lodgement
  • Tracking of tax and GST
  • Automatically track inventory items in different units of measure
  • Designed specifically for your industry
  • An ‘always on’ Audit Trail
  • Effortless Wildcard search
  • Portable Company File

Reckon’s other range of products include Quicken, Reckon Elite, Reckon Docs, APS and Reckon Limited (their corporate site). Here at e-BAS Accounts we currently offer assistance with the following QuickBooks (Accounts) products only:

  • QuickBooks Pro 2011-12
  • QuickBooks Pro 2010-11
  • QuickBooks Pro 2009-10
