About Janai Brigg

Early in January 2018, we welcomed a new employee to e-BAS Accounts – Janai Brigg.

Janai is working as a senior bookkeeper in our practice and is responsible for several tasks including liaising with clients, general bookkeeping, BAS/IAS preparation, reporting, payroll and superannuation. Janai works remotely from her home office as do all of our staff here at e-BAS Accounts.

A little bit about Janai

Janai lives near Brisbane, Queensland with her partner and daughter. She loves to spend as much time as she can at the beach, either at the beautiful Gold Coast or her favourite Sunshine Coast. Janai is an avid reader in her spare time, but her real passion is Yoga and is a devoted “Yogi” (when she’s not being a devoted bookkeeper!). Janai is also engaged to be married in 2019 and as you can see from her photo, will definitely make a beautiful bride!

Qualifications & Experience

Janai holds a Bachelor Degree in Business (Accounting) which she completed at Swinburne University in 2017 and is a Xero Certified Advisor.

She comes to us with many varied experience which she attained working in two separate bookkeeping and accounting firms across 8 years. Her experience includes working with several accounting software platforms such as MYOB Accountright, Xero, Reckon and QuickBooks. She has also used other software including HandiTax Practice Manager, Receipt Bank, Workflow Max, Microsoft Excel and several others. Early in her career, Janai performed many roles whilst working in the above firms including receptionist, marketing coordinator, software support officer for clients, debt collector and general office support to bookkeepers and accountants as required.

As the years progressed, firm managers soon recognised that Janai’s bookkeeping skills had greatly improved, as had her general knowledge of the industry as a whole. As a result, they invited her to take on a bookkeeping-specific role in which she excelled. In this role she performed many tasks such as:

  • Dealing with the ATO on behalf of clients
  • Dealing with ASIC on behalf of clients
  • Providing software and bookkeeping troubleshooting support to clients
  • Bank reconciliation
  • Balance sheet reconciliation
  • Budget preparation
  • Accounts payable and receivable
  • Training and assisting clients
  • BAS and IAS preparation
  • Payroll for clients including preparing year-end payment summaries

When Janai completed her Bachelor Degree, she was promoted to Graduate Accountant. Some of the tasks Janai performed in this role included:

  • Assisting senior accountants to prepare sets of financial reports and tax returns for clients (company, trust and individuals)
  • BAS and IAS preparation
  • Working in the Tax Portal
  • Balance Sheet and general ledger reconciliations
  • End of year reconciliation and reporting
  • Asset and depreciation register maintenance

As you can see, Janai is a very experienced and well qualified bookkeeper and we are very lucky to have her indeed! Janai possesses a wealth of knowledge and skills which we are sure will greatly benefit our clients and our practice as a whole. She is a breath of fresh air and we are sure our clients will love her! Welcome Janai!
