The SBSCH is moving! Time to pack your bags!

Those of you who use the Small Business Super Clearing House (SBSCH) to report and pay super for employees are about to enter a whole new world! The ATO are moving the platform to the online portals (Business, BAS and Tax Agent Portals). The platform will operate in the same way as you are used to but will be “prettier” to look at due to a redesign etc. The move to online portals will occur on 26th February 2018.

What do I need to do?

If you engage a BAS or Tax Agent to report and lodge SGC on your behalf, then you don’t need to do anything. Your agent will continue to do this job for you, so no real change to your procedures in this case. Your agent will more than likely be across the changes to SBSCH, but just in case, you may wish to mention this to him/her before next SGC lodgement date.

If you lodge your own SGC via SBSCH, then listen up – you will need to get ready! Firstly, if you lodge on a monthly basis, you will need to do this for the month of January 2018 prior to 20th February as the ATO will stop all services to SBSCH from that date forward. You will also need to ensure that you have paid the SGC prior to 3pm AEDT on 19th February 2018. From this date, the SBSCH will no longer be accessible using your current user ID and password.

From 26th February 2018, you will be able to access SBSCH in your ATO Business Portal. If you don’t yet have access to your portal, then you will need to set this up ASAP. This can be done either via your myGov account or by using your AUSkey.
